Nooooooooooo! I don’t want to be looking back at May already. I didn’t do anything! Not a single bloody thing! Unless you count eating, drinking and doing the washing. Anyway…
Welcome to my next ‘Looking back’ post! If you missed the first Looking Back, the first post of each month will be a monthly round-up of the month before. That’s a lot of month in that paragraph!
What Did I Get Up To?
As you can tell, I am thrilled to be looking back at May already!
And that’s because I did nothing. I didn’t achieve a damn thing. I don’t know what has happened to me recently, but all motivation has just left me. Where has it gone? If found, please send it back to me. I’d be ever so grateful!
I think it might actually have something to do with the warmer weather. I both love and hate the hot weather. I love it because everything just feels better in the sun. I get to see my garden blossom and flower, and I can get all my washing done.
But I also hate it too because I don’t like being hot! I hate feeling sweaty, I don’t like the sun getting in my eyes, I hate the feel of sun lotion on my skin, I just don’t like it. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I will be pale forevermore! 🤣
Blogging
So although my motivation has left me, I actually uploaded a lot of posts last month and had the best month I’ve ever had for views!
Focus on You – I am due to upload my last Focus on You post this month, so if you would like to be involved, please send me an email, and I’ll get back to you.
It has been such an eye-opening experience for me to talk to all these amazing women and share their stories on my blog. I’m not ready for this series to end yet, so do get in touch ❤️
If you’ve not heard of Focus on You before, you can read about it in this post.
Mental Health
I’m not sure what’s changed recently, but my mental health hasn’t been great. Some of my old thoughts are creeping back in. I usually struggle at night when I’ve gone to bed – probably because there is nothing to distract me. As a result, I’m waiting to go to bed until I’m super tired, which means I’m not going to bed until much later. And as we all know, lack of sleep is detrimental to your mental health. It’s a bit of a vicious circle!
My Weight
As it’s only been a week since I uploaded the post, My Weight, not an awful lot has changed. I am trying to be more mindful of what I eat. I’m asking myself if I’m actually hungry or am I just bored before I go to the cupboard or fridge. I’ve also been drinking more water. So, I’m quite happy with the start I’ve made.
Did I Achieve My Goals?
These were my goals from April’s post:
Look After MyselfNOPEActually keep up to date with my damn blogging schedule!NOPEFinish mWhat is the point? NOPE!
What actually is the point of me setting goals each month if I don’t actually stick to them?!
My Goals For June
- Lose 2lbs – I’m starting small! I’m aiming for half a pound a week, to begin with.
- Start reading again – I love reading, but I just don’t do it anymore – probably because I’m too busy looking at my phone. As an Amazon Prime member, I’m entitled to a selection of kindle books for free each month, so I’m going to start reading them. On my phone 😐
- Work on my blog photography – Where I’ve started writing about beauty products, I need to start taking my own blog photos! I don’t think I’ve done too poorly so far, but I feel like I could learn more!
And I think that’s it for this month. Thanks for looking back at May with me!

Oh gosh this is hilarious! I’ve too been achieving a lot of nothing lately 🙂 Let’s just blame the ‘Rona!
Right?! It’s so hard to get the motivation up!!
I don’t think you should be so hard on yourself, after all, May was a funny old month. I didn’t achieve half the things on my list either but I did enjoy spending time in our garden – and like you, got all my washing done! Lisa xx
May was a funny month! I’m already doing better this month compared to last.
How amazing does it feel when you get to the bottom of your wash bin!! 🤣🤣
Well you’re nothing if not honest with how rubbish last month was – good on you! xD Onto the next, eh? Best of luck for your June goals!
Thank you! I’m already on my way to achieving my June goals so I’m happy! Being rubbish with my goals last month has given me the inspiration to actually achieve something this month! xx
I like the idea of this monthly wrap up kind of post! It’s great to see what you’ve achieved (even if it’s nothing or something small!). I’ve found I’ve rekindled my love for reading during lockdown! Definitely try and get back into reading, it gives you a form of escape that is especially needed with everything going on in the world at the moment. It might even help you with your mental health, it definitely has with mine 😊
Thank you so much! Hoping to be able to say that I’ve achieved something in my next looking back post! 🤣
I adore reading but never have the time so this month I am making the time! You’re completely right about reading being a form of escape. You really can get lost in a book and I miss that feeling xx
I can relate to a lot of what you said in your post “Looking Back At May”
A very enjoyable read!
Thank you so much! The months are just getting away from me at the moment! xx
I love your looking back posts! But I know what you mean about setting goals – I set some for myself last month and achieved half of one of the 5 and that was it… but it’s a new month. So good luck for this month 😊
Thank you so much. Ugh, I know, I’m starting to wonder why I bother setting myself goals 😭 haha half is better than none!! You’re completely right though, it is a new month and I WILL achieve something! Good luck to you too! xx
