As it’s my birthday in a few days, I wanted to do something a little bit different for today’s post – My Fantasy Birthday Dinner Party. I remember reading a post by The Doubting Thomas about who he would invite to a fantasy dinner party so I wanted to do a little play on that.
I love finding out from other people who they would invite to their fantasy dinner party so I’m sharing with you who I would invite. But I wanted to take it a step further and organise everything – who would cook, the entertainment, the venue, everything!
This will most definitely not be a realistic dinner party in the slightest. We’re talking TV and movie characters, dead celebs, fictional places. Hey, it’s my birthday, I can do what I want.
So let’s get into it!!
The Guest List
Obviously ALL of my friends and family ❤️
Henry VIII – I have a slightly odd obsession with Henry VIII
Marilyn Monroe – I would love to hear her stories
My nan – My nan died over 20 years ago so I’d love to catch her up on everything.
Chris Hemsworth – That man is perfection!
Michael Scott from The Office – He would definitely give us something to talk about!
The Salvatore Brothers – They’re from The Vampire Diaries and they are beautiful
Kenneth from Benidorm – I’d love to see what t-shirt he turns up in!
Robbin Williams – I was devastated when he died 😢 He actually died the same day that I was diagnosed with depression (the two were not related!)
The Venue
This one I really struggled with actually. It’s a toss-up between Hogwarts and The Cotswolds.
Hogwarts because, c’mon, it’s awesome! And The Cotwolds because I’ve been glamping a few times in Notgrove which is in The Cotswolds and it really is the most beautiful place that I have ever been. I actually wrote a guest post about my experience if you would like to have a read.
If it was at Hogwarts I wouldn’t need to change a thing. If it was in The Cotwolds, I would put a massive marquee up and there would be heaters to keep everyone warm and toasty. I would have thick, fluffy blankets dotted around for everyone and millions of tea lights. Fairy lights would be strung up everywhere. There would be a fire pit so that we could toast marshmallows and make smores!
The Food
It would have to be prepared and made by Nigella Lawson. Part of the entertainment would be her preparing it. I just loooooove the way she talks about food and the stuff she makes looks bloody scrummy! I would want a bit of everything really, so everyone can pick and choose what they want. We would definitely need pizza, Chinese food (duck spring rolls 🤤) sushi and steak.
The Drinks

Obviously, there would be whatever you wanted! But most definitely there would be unlimited Prosecco, Icy cold white wine and smooth Red wine. I think I would have cocktails made by The Bombay Sapphire. I went there for my birthday one year. It was an incredible day out and I’ve been hooked on it ever since!
The Entertainment
Well, as I said Nigella would be part of the entertainment, preparing the food, the cocktail makers would definitely provide some entertainment. Not a popular choice but I would have Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi serenading us whilst we eat. I would like a performance to be put on by Cirque du Soleil. Then in the evening, we would have a party and David Guetta would DJ. Later on, once we’re all tired and had enough we would all wind down around the fire with giant cushions and blankets and look at the stars.
The Cake
I would have had my cake made by Choccywoccydoodah but I’ve just Googled them and found out that they have ceased trading!! So, in that case, it will be Yolanda from How To Cake It. She makes the BEST cakes!
Presents
Is it really tacky to add what my fantasy presents would be?? Probably, but just in case anyone still needs to buy me anything, I LOVE:
- Pyjamas
- Socks
- Perfume
- All kinds of toiletries except moisturiser for the body and face (I can only use a certain type)
- Stuff from Pandora
- Anything Radley
- Makeup
- Anything Harry Potter related
Goodie Bags
No party is complete without Goodie Bags!! These would have a bottle of water and paracetamol to help nurse the hangover. Flip flops and slippers for when your shoes became uncomfortable. Mints obviously. Mini bottles of aftershave and perfume. Keyring from Tiffany. And Disposable cameras.
No one would have to drive home if they didn’t want to. Free taxis all night!
Conclusion
I think that might be everything! I had so much fun planning this and picturing what it would look like in my head. Let me tell you, the image in my head is completely awesome!
However, if I was being completely realistic for a moment, my Fantasy Birthday Dinner Party would honestly be all of my friends and family together in one room, having a meal and a good laugh and I would get to hug every single one of them. It has been far, far too long since I’ve seen them and I cannot wait for this terrible virus to do one.
What would your Fantasy Birthday Dinner Party look like? I’d love to hear what you would do and who you would invite!

Love love this post what a fun birthday you will have , cannot wait to see the pictures. On a serious note I agree as we are both having birthdays in lock down it’s going to be tough. But we will make the most of it, and when safe what a lot of celebrating we can do .
Haha thank you! I wish it was really going to happen! It is going to be a tough this year but it just means that next year (hopefully) we will celebrate extra hard!! xx
