I’ve had a really crappy week this week. My anxiety has been kicking my butt big time. I’ve had panic attacks and I’ve been stroppy, tired, unmotivated and fed up. As a result, I haven’t done ANY blogging because I just haven’t had the energy. I would open my laptop and my brain would just be like, ‘yeah, that’s not happening.’ So I gave up trying and focused on feeling better. Which I kind of do now, but it means that I have only just started writing this post on Saturday and it’s going live Sunday. Poop.
Anyway, on a slightly lighter note, did you know that starting today it is Random Acts Of Kindness Week? I didn’t even realise that there was a Random Acts Of Kindness Week until I saw it in my Blog Planner. I think today is the perfect time to talk about Random Acts Of Kindness. This is because everyone is feeling crap from lockdown, mental health is at an all-time low and it’s still winter. We all need a bit of a boost, so here are my suggestions for Random Acts Of Kindness Week to cheer everyone up.
Gift Boxes/Gift Bag
I’m starting with my favourite one! There are soo many options for this! You could gift food/make-up/pamper items/books & magazines etc boxes. A quick Google search and there are opinions on Etsy or you have Friend in a Box and Treat Box. You can even take it a step further and make your own! Pop in sweets, face masks, nail varnish, a wax melt…anything goes! Pop it in a nice box or bag and you’re done!
Give A Friend Or Family Member A Call

When was the last time you called your nan or sister or friend? Give them a call now, have a little chat and a catch-up. You’ll be in their good books for a while and it will make you both feel better.
Give Someone A Compliment
See someone with an awesome colour hair or a dress that you love? Know someone who can sing well or is a good driver? Let them know! How pumped would you be to receive a compliment?!
Apologise
This one is rich coming from me but I’ll carry on! Have you fallen out with someone or are you in the wrong for something. How about you apologise for it? Not only will they feel better but you’ll feel better too!
Let Someone In Front Of You In Traffic
Stuck in traffic and someone is trying to merge in from the slip road? Let them in. It takes seconds and really isn’t a big deal. Simple act of kindness right there!
Reach Out To A Friend
Have you and a friend fizzled out recently? Are you waiting for them to contact you first? Reach out to them or give them a call! Whats the worst that could happen?
Litter Picking
Bit of a different one, but think of it this way – by doing this, you are doing an act of kindness for the community and for nature. You will need to double-check with your local council that there isn’t already a litter picking group in your area. You will also need to gain permission to litter pick on private or public land.
Once you’ve done that, you will also need to make sure that you are wearing protective gear and that you get yourself a litter picking stick. You’re all set!
Buy A Gift

Why don’t you treat a friend or a loved one to a gift? Have they had their eye on a book or a pair of shoes for a while now? Have you seen a pair of fluffy socks or a hat that is totally them? Why don’t you treat them? If you have the money obviously! DO NOT skint yourself out to do it though!
Share Someones Work
Does your friend make jewellery/draw/paint/make models/write a blog 😉 Why don’t you share their work on your Facebook/Instagram/Twitter? (check if you need permission first!) You sharing might just give them the exposure or sale they need. You have no idea how much it makes somebodies day when you share their work.
Buy Groceries/Run An Errand For An Elderly/Vulnerable Neighbour
With everything going on (and the cold, crappy weather!) some elderly or Vulnerable people may be struggling to get out and about. As long as you are staying at a safe distance and not putting yourself at risk why don’t you offer to help the
Conclusion
And there are my Random Acts Of Kindness ideas. I’m not suggesting that you go out and spend all your money or spend all your free time doing things for others (unless you want to, of course!) But you never know, that smile you give a stranger or compliment you give, you might just make somebodies day or give them the boost they need to carry on.
Do you have some work that you would like sharing? I would be more than happy to share it on my personal Facebook and Procrastinating Mum Facebook/Twitter and Instagram. Just leave me a message with the details I’ll need and I’ll get sharing.
Will you be trying any of these or do you already have your own ideas of what you want to do? I’d love to hear from you!

Thank you so much Carol. It’s seems to be better so far thank you! ❤️❤️
These are great ideas but it’s a sad commentary on our world that things that used to be just common courtesy are now considered random acts of kindness.
I hope this week is better for you.
Thank you so much. Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Hopefully kindness week will encourage more people to be kinder more often ❤️❤️
