Did you know that Mental Health Awareness Week starts tomorrow? Mental Health Awareness Week was started 21 years ago by The Mental Health Foundation. It is a fantastic opportunity for all of the UK to open up and talk about all aspects of mental health and to work towards attaining a healthier mindset.
Every year the Foundation sets a theme, and this year the theme is Nature. They have chosen nature because being in nature is proven to be an effective way of improving mental health and wellbeing. Just check out my post, The Importance Of Gardening For You And Your Mental Health, to find out why!
I am passionate about mental health and wellbeing. I have several posts on the subject, some of which I have shared below:
- Putting Together Your Panic Attack Toolkit
- 14 Ways To Look After Your Mental Health
- What To Expect From Therapy – My Experience
- How To Support Someone With Depression And Anxiety
To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, I have put together a self-care box filled with lots of eco-friendly and sustainable products that you could have a chance of winning!!
The Prizes!
These are all the marvellous products included in the self-care box totalling over £40.00!:
Sunset Bath Bomb
The Sunset Bath Bomb has scents of lavender, sweet orange and bergamot, and it releases lavender flowers into the bath as it fizzes. The bath bomb has been specially designed to help your body relax. The bath bomb also contains Organic Epsom Salts, which can help reduce pain and relax muscles.

Aloe Vera Shampoo Bar
We all know that plastic waste is terrible for the environment, so swapping to Shampoo bars is a great idea. Not only is there no plastic waste, but they are also great for your hair.
The Aloe Vera Shampoo Bar from Earth Bits is unscented and gently moisturises hair. This bar, which is rich in aloe vera juice, works best on normal to dry hair.

Clearing Pink Clay Mask – 100% Natural Pink Clay Mask Powder
Pink Clay is rich in Silica. This can help improve skin elasticity and cell renewal for younger-looking skin. It also gently exfoliates to leave skin silky soft and smooth. This face mask comes in a tin, so no plastic waste here!

Eco-Friendly Vegan Lip Balm In Sweet Orange
This eco-friendly lip balm is handmade from 100% natural ingredients and vegan friendly. It is designed to heal and moisturise dry, irritated lips in a sweet orange scent.

Wax Melt in Lavender & Petitgrain
The Botanical Candle Co. wax melts are made with soy wax. Soy wax is natural and biodegradable. It also has a lower melting point than paraffin wax and will burn slower. Soy wax is non-toxic, making it better for the environment than paraffin as well.
Lavender can help reduce anxiety levels and improve sleep quality (NEVER leave a wax melt burning when going to sleep, this is very dangerous!)

Home Sew Home Handmade Reusable Face Pads
Although cotton wool pads are made from natural fibres, they are not compostable. Think about how many cotton wool pads you use a day? Maybe 3 or 4? In a year, that equals approximately 1,456! Let’s say a packet holds 100 pads. That’s around 15 packets a year. For ONE person!
Making that one simple change to reusable face pads will have such a positive impact on the environment. Plus, look how pretty they are! These little beauties have been handmade by the lovely Liv from Home Sew Home.

Extras
As this is a self-care box, I have also included flashcards with helpful numbers and distraction techniques from a panic attack and a journal and pens.
Keeping a journal is an excellent way of helping your mental health. It doesn’t have to be anything profound. I use mine as a brain dump, and I cannot tell you how much it has been helping me.
