Looking Back At February

As you can tell from the title, I’m looking back at February for today’s post! I’ve had serious writer’s block this week. I didn’t have a clue what to write about for today. I have loads of ideas and for future posts but today – a big fat nothing! And it’s really been stressing me out, as you can imagine.

So, I’ve decided to actually do what my husband keeps telling me to do – a round-up post of my last month. Well, he actually said a weekly round up, but I’m not doing it weekly. I’ve decided that the first post of each month will be my monthly round-up of the month before.

Also, taking inspiration from one of my favourite bloggers – Life With Ktkinnes, I thought that I would share my goal for the next month, both blogging and personal with you, in the hopes that I actually achieve them! Let’s take a look back at February.

What Did I Get Up To?

My Operation

I had my operation. To be honest, I think having my op and recovery took up most of February! I spent the first week worrying about it, then the rest of the time recovering.

I did struggle a little bit. I assumed that recovery was going to be really quick and that I would be up and about in no time, but in reality, it took a good week for me to start feeling ‘normal’ again.

My Birthday

February is my birthday month! Thankfully, I had recovered from my op and was able to enjoy my birthday. I had some friends over at the weekend. They made delicious food and we had drinks and just generally had a lovely time. On the Sunday we went to my Mother-in-Laws house and we had cake and a buffet and I stuffed my face. All in all, a good birthday!

My Skin

Believe it or not, but this is actually my skin looking good!

I am planning on writing a whole post dedicated to my skin. It has been sooooooo sore and has really brought me down. It got to the point where it was so sore that I could barely open my mouth to talk (haha yes, lovely and quiet for Darren!)

I’ve been to the doctors and had antibiotics and I have a strong steroid cream but it just won’t clear up. I’ve been urgently referred to the dermatologist and honestly, it can’t come soon enough.

My Mental Health

My mental health has been a bit all over the place this month. A mixture of the operation and my skin being so bad has just really affected me. I haven’t suffered with my depression for a while now, but when my skin was at its worst, I could feel the black cloud lurking. I know that it’s only skin but it honestly was so bad.

Little J

Little J has really stepped it up a gear with his tantrums. I didn’t think it was even possible. We have screaming, shouting, feet stamping, hitting, scratching, headbanging. I want to make sure that I’m handling these tantrums in the correct way, so I called the Health Visitor and I’m waiting for a call back from the Nursery Nurse. If anyone has any tips in the meantime, I’m all ears….

What Did I Achieve?

Looking back at February, not a great deal in all honesty!

No actually, I had my best month for views on my website which is amazing! So, thank you very much for reading what I have to say! When I started this blog I had no idea if anyone would actually want to read what I’m writing so thank you so much!

My Goals for March

  • Understanding Pinterest for blogging! If you follow me on Twitter you’ll see that I’ve been getting seriously stressed out trying to understand it all! I have bought a very helpful eBook from Jade Marie but trying to get my mushy mum brain to work is proving difficult!
  • Keep up to date with my blogging schedule! I’m very good at making plans and schedules but I don’t actually ever stick to them! I want to make sure that I’m regularly posting to Facebook (where I’ve just reached over 200 likes, thank you so much!) and Instagram.
  • Writing up Focus on You! I am so excited to start the new series of posts – Focus on You. There are amazing, strong people that follow my blog. I love the idea that I am able to help you get your story out there from my little corner of the internet.

I think that’s everything. I honestly wasn’t sure what was going to happen with today’s post as I only started writing it at 12:30 today 🙈 Ah the joys of being a procrastinator!

Thanks for looking back at February with me!

My birthday is in February too 😊 Happy belated birthday! I know what you mean about Pinterest, it can get so frustrating trying to make sense of it all. I’m still trying to figure it all out myself.

I can’t wait to read your new series 😊 Sounds interesting xx

Ah happy belated birthday to you too 🎉🎊 Me trying to understand Pinterest is like trying to understand nuclear science 🤯🤯🤯
Thank you! I’m so excited for it 😃

Doing monthly round ups are a great way of reminding yourself of all the good things that have happened! (since as humans we tend to always remember the bad first!)
I also want to learn how to use Pinterest for blogging but I also think it looks a little confusing! I know nothing about it 😅 hope you manage to work it out!

You’re right, it’s so easy to forget and say that you’ve done nothing at all!
Thank you!! Pinterest just blows my mind 🤯🤯 Good luck for when you start using it!
